//Experience

GIS Coordinator: City of Williston

Built a functional GIS department from scratch and extended GIS services across multiple city branches. Work extensively with the City Engineering and Public works departments to build an exhaustive database of infrastructure information, comprehensive sets of field maps, created and co-manage the asset management system across multiple Public Works departments to increase efficiency and service provision. Other responsibilities include managing field staff and survey equipment, construction engineering design and project management, and database management. Every day something new comes across my desk, and it’s always interesting to help bring a new project or service to the public.

Researcher: University of North Dakota

Working within various the academic departments of UND, I employed research and analysis of data concerning a litany of issues and a variety of analytical tools, including GIS analysis, System Dynamics modeling, and policy analysis through SPSS. These projects allowed me use expertise accrued through my time in the Geography and Public Administration Department in order to address some public policy questions facing the region and country.

GIS Analyst: City of Grand Forks, Cities Area Transit

As an Analyst, I focused upon data collection, study of traffic patterns, and presentation of information for release to the public. A key element of my job was managing data, bringing it together from multiple departments, and translating it into a reader-friendly version for public consumption. The Cities Area Transit (CAT) Department is the public transportation provider for Grand Forks, ND and East Grand Forks, MN. CAT operates thirteen routes Monday through Saturday, providing the area with quality, affordable transportation, which improves the quality of life and increases the economic vitality of the community. The department specializes in public transit, bus and vehicle maintenance, and transport analysis and flow management.

Cartographer: Lutheran Social Services of North Dakota

As an Analyst & Project Team Leader, I directed the process of creating several maps for newly-settled refugees to the Grand Forks area, allocating objectives for each team member, and curated the final brochure product for publication. The organization serves ND communities through program innovation, collaboration and technology. Developing and leveraging internal and external partnerships to provide expanded and enhanced services. Connecting people to one another and to resources to help them in their time of need.
